Yemen conflict
The largely frozen civil war reignited in mid-2026. A UN-backed truce collapsed in July, the Houthis resumed attacks on Red Sea shipping, and from early September they launched offensives in Taiz and seized Yemen's entire Red Sea coast. Government forces and Saudi Arabia counter-attacked, and the Houthis struck Saudi cities and oil facilities.
