Venezuela political crisis
After U.S. forces seized President Nicolas Maduro in a January 2026 raid, acting President Delcy Rodriguez leads the government and has restored cooperation with Washington. She has promised elections without a date, while opposition leader Maria Corina Machado remains unable to return. There is little ongoing fighting; this is mainly a political and humanitarian crisis.
