Pakistan insurgencies (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan)
Pakistani security forces fight Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baloch separatist groups in Balochistan. 2025 was the deadliest year in a decade, and 2026 is higher still: militant attacks hit a 12-year monthly high in September, with Balochistan overtaking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the most violent province.
