Myanmar civil war
Armed resistance groups and ethnic armies have fought the military since its February 2021 coup. After phased elections in Dec 2025-Jan 2026, coup leader Min Aung Hlaing became president in April 2026. Fighting and air strikes continue across much of the country, and the military holds only a minority of territory.
