India–Pakistan hostilities (May 2025)
After the April 2025 Pahalgam attack, India struck nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir (Operation Sindoor). Pakistan retaliated (Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos), and India hit Pakistani air bases. A ceasefire took effect on 10 May 2025 and has held, but relations remain hostile: the Indus Waters Treaty is still suspended and warships collided in September 2026.
